THE NEW FARMER’S READING PATH
A fresh save.
A little direction.
You don’t need a perfect first year. This route helps you understand one system at a time, without turning your farm into a to-do list. It assumes an unmodded game with standard bundles; farm types and settings can change your starting resources.
Start with a manageable first week →
Clear only the space you need. A small field leaves you time and energy to learn fishing, meet your neighbours, and explore. Use this day-by-day plan as a starting point rather than a deadline.
Choose what your energy can support →
Before buying more seeds, think about watering. If chores consume the morning, keep the field small and put spare time into fishing or foraging.
Plan your first planting →
Compare seed cost, growing time, and your next harvest date. Keep spending money for new seeds and remember that most crops die when their season ends.
Learn a second source of income →
Fishing gives you something useful to do between harvests. Start with easy catches and consider the Training Rod if the minigame feels difficult.
Make each mine trip achievable →
Take food and leave room in your backpack. Aim for the next elevator checkpoint instead of carrying everything or staying until you collapse.
Save the things you will need later →
Check bundle requirements before shipping your last seasonal item. This guide covers standard bundles; remixed bundles can ask for different items.
