Fall Crops Guide: Cranberries, Pumpkins, and the Rare Seed
A complete breakdown of every Fall crop in Stardew Valley, including profit per day, giant Pumpkins, and the 3,000g Sweet Gem Berry.
Fall is the last growing season before Winter, and it’s one of the most profitable. This guide covers every Fall crop so you can squeeze the most gold out of the final season of the year.
The heavy hitters
| Crop | Seed cost | Sell price | Grow time | Harvest type |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Cranberries |
240g | 75g (x2 per harvest) | 7 days | Regrows every 5 days |
Pumpkins |
100g | 320g | 13 days | Single harvest |
Sweet Gem Berry |
1000g | 3000g | 24 days | Single harvest |
Cranberries: the money printer
Cranberries are the Fall equivalent of Blueberries. Each harvest drops two berries (150g total), and the plant regrows every 5 days. The seed costs 240g — expensive upfront — but a single plant pays for itself in two harvests and keeps producing all season.
If you only plant one Fall crop, make it Cranberries.
Pumpkins: the giant and keg crop
Pumpkins sell for 320g each and have two big advantages:
- Giant crops — plant a 3x3 block and they can merge into a Giant Pumpkin worth roughly double.
- Kegs — Pumpkin Juice and the recipe value make them a great artisan ingredient.
The Sweet Gem Berry (Rare Seed)
The Rare Seed grows into a Sweet Gem Berry that sells for a massive 3,000g. The catch: the seed costs 1,000g, takes 24 days to grow (so plant it by Fall 4 at the latest), and can only be bought from the Traveling Cart, which appears in Cindersap Forest every Friday and Sunday.
The Sweet Gem Berry is a one-shot jackpot, not a steady earner. Buy Rare Seeds whenever the Traveling Cart has them.

What to plant in Year 1
- Cranberries are the priority. They have the best profit-per-day in Fall and keep producing all season.
- Add Pumpkins if you want to gamble on Giant Pumpkins or keg the harvest.
- Buy Rare Seeds from the Traveling Cart whenever they appear — the Sweet Gem Berry is one of the most profitable single crops in the game.
- Eggplants and Bok Choy are cheap fillers if you have leftover gold and space.
The bottom line
Cranberries are the king of Fall for steady income, Pumpkins are the high-value keg and giant-crop pick, and the Sweet Gem Berry is your lottery ticket. Plant Cranberries heavily, add Pumpkins with spare gold, and never pass up a Rare Seed at the Traveling Cart.
